A survey to mark the launch of Cartoonito's brand new British version of Hi-5 revealed that most British parents are unaware of the skills that their children should have developed by the time they start school.

It can be confusing knowing where to turn for advice on setting your children up for their first day at school - almost half of the parents surveyed by Hi-5 felt that they needed further advice and information and weren't sure where to go for guidance.

With all this in mind, Hi-5, which promotes learning through play for children aged between two and five years, worked with expert in infant and child development Dr Janine Spencer to create the Hi-5 Curricu-mum.

The Hi-5 Curricu-mum guide contains a checklist of 22 key skills children should have started to develop by the time they start school. The guide also contains easy, practical advice and tips for parents on how to nurture these skills in fun and exciting ways based on official child development education guidelines.
